The Yayasan Sedunia is based on three pillars: the Eco Tourism Projects, the educational project the Special Education Schools, and the Art & Design Programme. The foundation supports targeted projects in South East Asia. The project most dear to founder Dato’ Sri Michael is the Special Education School for more than 10,000 children, young people and adults in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, which is financed mainly by the income generated by the Tourism Assets Investment Trust (TAIT).
The Yayasan Sedunia also creates space for dialogue and inspirational encounters. Within the Art & Design Programme (“Created by Locals”), a place for study is available to artists and designer at the home stay resorts.
The founders of the Yayasan Sedunia, Dato’ Sri Michael , were inspired by the so-called “Hutan Simpanan” (Forest Reserved) in Malaysia. He advocated an extended concept of Protect the Nature and Promote the Culture, which, in addition to materially tangible work, also encompasses human, society-altering action.
